Check Sprinkler Coverage Before You Blame the Fertilizer

Run the zone at the time the lawn actually burns

Afternoon heat and valley wind move spray. A 6 a.m. test can look even and still leave a west strip dry at 4 p.m. Stand at the brown area and watch a full cycle.

Look for misting, sunken heads, and blocked pop-ups under bark. Photograph the dry patch before you water it the night we arrive.

Product cannot replace a closed valve

If a zone never runs, the lawn program is not the lever. If two heads on the same zone throw different patterns, the nozzles do not match. Those are mechanical notes.

Pest damage and disease can still be real. They look different from a hard-edged dry arc. Keep those on pest or plant-health notes so the first visit brings the right tools.

After coverage is honest, then talk seed and soil

Once water lands where it should, thin turf may still need seed, aeration, or a program change. That is a second decision. Mixing it into the first visit is how a simple head repair becomes a confused estimate.
